A New Content Landscape (by @baekdal) #media

I totally agree with this, the fact that Apple wants you in their playground but not anybody else’s is not going to be something that is sustainable because content follows the audience and the audience may not only have an apple device. It reminds me of data plans for smartphones, 3G USB sticks, 3G devices like the iPad, and how you often have to get multiple plans for all of them when I wish I could just get a data plan for anything over a cell network and use multiple devices on that plan.

Content is the same way and publishers are starting to get an idea that they can’t dictate the device we use if they want to access the biggest audience. They have to go where the audience is, sometimes that will mean the tried and true paper format, website, iPhone app, WAP site or tablet and for the largest content creators and publishers it is going to have to be a combination of this all.

I hope we get there fast and the transition will not be as jarring as I think it will be, but for many it is going to be a graveyard as companies find ways to make money out of this new work. With so many moving pieces and layers nothing is going to be as simple as out of home, TV/radio and print ever again. Sorry advertisers, brands, and ad agencies it is a new world and new rules…so time to make it up as we go.

The Transition

The transitions always come to bookend the season, shifting the focus with what seems no rhyme or reason.
As summer cools to fall, life prepares to tunnel so it can await the thaw.
We know the why and how of the change but doesn’t remove the beauty of a gaze.
See the colours turn as life takes to sleep, as nature prepares to dream in the deep.

We are beings often removed from the Earth, living in Metal towers sure that we are the worth.
Humans create an illusion of control, to calm and comfort us as we roll.
We have knowledge and truth about the how but the why is the question that always confounds.
There is no answer for that question today, I don’t it exists in any way.
Buy we ask about the colours in the sky, if only to quench the thirst of mind’s eye.

So as a one day ends and another starts anew, know that it’s end will come too soon.
Bye summer and hello to the fall, the cool breeze that whispers to nature’s call.
Sleep well this day and calm the seas as we prepare for winter to come and appease.

I love the Iridium theme and the Emporium ones, they really have a great look but are more visual oriented.

I Love When Birds get Angry

I have never  bought apps on iTunes because I have never had a iPhone or an iPod Touch till just recently and then I kept on hearing about the game Angry Birds, I tried the lite version and after that I knew it was as good as they said it was so I went out and took the plunge. It was time to kick ass and take some names of those pigs. This is one of the reasons why this game rocks!
