The New Google Bar Replaces the Black Bar that we have gotten to know and love or hate over the last year or so. This new bar unifies how you use Google products by making navigation consistent across Google’s products and services. So it looks like the roll out will be coming in the days and weeks to come. I can’t say much about it until I use it myself but the unification of the look, feel and navigation across the Google ecosystem has been a long time coming. Below is the Google youtube video that explains the change.
I wonder across how many products that the new Nav bar functions on and I wish I could customize it for my needs in browser so I see only what makes the most sense. If they were to think the bar a bit to maximize space I think it would be more helpful but I reserve judgement until I can use it for myself.
It took me a little while to get the final day up because I wasn’t sure what I was going to say. The entire weekend was a tornado but I wanted to say something. Hopefully this isn’t too bad.

The last day of Startup Weekend Toronto was all about the pitch. Everyone was running and gunning for 4pm which is when it would all be over and the pitching would begin for all teams not just Unbox. I had been up the day before creating a deck and would redo it again 2 more times. Then Alex decided to create his own but since he was the one doing the pitch it made a lot more sense to do it that way.
This day the pressure cooker went from 7 to 11 in about 5 minutes. The coders were furiously working away to make things works for the live demo. I remember everything very clearly but not. It was such a blur. I remember seeing Alex prepare for the 5 minute pitch. You only had 5 minutes to make a mark on the judges.
We ended up going 3rd to last and when Alex got started he was racing through the presentation he created in Photoshop. We came in with so much energy and it was inspiring to see. First he talked about what the process was, about how he came up with the idea and that dove right into the demo. (more…)
Currently I am playing Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Now I didn’t play Assassin’s Creed 2 but I did try the first one and I adored Brotherhood. Now I thought that Altiar was a badass while Ezio was a romantic. Revelations takes place many years after Brotherhood in Rome’s sister city of Constantinople, Turkey.
I think that Rome in Brotherhood had a larger area but Constantinople here has more density and that has its own pros and cons. Overall I do love the gameplay but the tower defence bits did frustrate me a bit. I am not too far into the game yet, I want to make it last but I am liking what I see so far.
This is the swan song for Altiar and Ezio. The end of the road for both characters, particularly Ezio who we have gotten to know throughout 3 games within the Assassin’s Creed II trilogy. This is the trailer for what happens after the end of Revelations in a short movie called Embers. Can’t wait to work myself to that point and see it in all its glory.
