QUICK Thoughts on 2011 and A Welcome to 2012

So 2011 is in the books. It was the start of a new decade and brought so much global strife and concern. The Middle East had a few pivot points that will reverberate for years to come. A triple threat of earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear disaster reiterated the dangers of Nuclear power and the European debt crisis has the potential to bring the world to the edge of recession yet again and North Korea got a new leader.

In the US 2012 is going to be an election year, Iran inches closer to becoming a Nuclear weapon ready nation. Jack Layton’s story ended like that of Moses, he reached an epic high after a long fought battle but with his death he would never see the promised land while Harper finally received the majority he long sought.

For me personally I was looking for a job at the beginning of 2011 and found one a few months later but that didn’t work out. It never felt like the right place and I had to go back to figure out my next move. I am saying goodbye to trying to get into the advertising business. Time to refocus my energy on the startup scene, writing articles and stories worth telling, and see if an idea can take form and find success. Should I take a few months to discover the world and thus discover who I am by seeing the diversity the world offers.

These are the beats of the next few years. I do not say goodbye to 2011 I say thanks for clearing the way and making me understand that it was never the journey that entangled me, it was the fear of the unknown. Now I don’t fear what I can’t see I am excited by it. While others may think that stability is great, it is as much a crutch as anything else. It keeps things level but while you avoid the lows you do the same with the highs. I promise myself to do my best, fail a lot and never let myself be an obstacle to success.

SO again peace out 2011 and Welcome 2012, time to get to work, never to stop and enjoy the chaos as we slide to the unknown whatever it means. I do not believe that this will be a year or change I know it because I will make it one. I am gonna make my own LUCK and I hope everyone else does the same.
