The Ad Buzz had the chance to attend a presentation about the future of business last Wednesday and the first hour took a broad look at the status of the Canadian Economy. BMO took a look at how the Canadian situation has fared against the backdrop of the global recession that continues to shadow our neighbours to the south. They showed that the developing world and counties like Canada were able to get through the recession more or less intact and have started growing again. (more…)

#smwTO: Red Flag Deals goes Deal of the Day

Paul Baggio is the manager for Deal of the Day by Red Flag Deals which is one of the most well-known deal sites in Canada. Red Flag Deals has been around for a long time and is a community of deal seekers and searches and was acquired by the Yellow Pages last year. The deal of the day was launched last fall and is currently in 6 sites and while they would like to be in more cities they realized that some cities may not have as many deals. (more…)

Deal Page – Home of the Deal Lands at #smwTO

Wes Bos was next and is a web designer by trade who is finishing his final year at Ryerson University. Wes was the next speaker at ING Direct’s event on group buying. He found that there were a lot of great deal sites out there but that it was a pain to go to all of them to see if there were any deals you wanted in on. That is where the idea for a daily deals aggregator called Deal Page came from so that the deals are all in on spot for people to see. (more…)

Peter Aceto the CEO of ING Direct introduced several entrepreneurs who have jumped on the group buying band wagon. Each of them has their own unique spin on the rapidly growing space at SpiceSafar on King St W. in Toronto for the 2nd annual Social Media Week.
