When speculation happens for commodities what cost does it have for all of us that depend on it. WOW I can’t believe that Glencore controls prices for so many commodities that are in the food and products we use every day. Man this is a firm that made their fortune through illegal means from trading with the enemy, tax evasion and so on. Their money seems more like money drenched in the suffering of people, all to control commodity prices so Glencore can make a mint. World food prices have increased by 36% since last year which means that according to this video 44 million more people find themselves below the poverty line. All because of speculative pricing. After watching this video I can’t but feel like this is capitalism taken to the extremes but where the cost born is on all of us.
