This is depressing but since they could have all died in Mass Effect 2 I am just happy all my crew made it to the third one even though I couldn’t bring them back to my squad (which I am still pissed about). Thanks to CVG on YouTube.
So Sim City is coming to PC in 2013 with Sim City 5 YAY. That is one of the best announcements to come out of GDC so far. I remember the first Sim City I played way back when, Sim City 2000 and then 3000 and how cool it was to create my city while trying not to go broke. I’m also happy that it is for the PC only, that was always where it felt most at home and I don’t expect that to change in its next iteration.
From putting down pipes to creating power plants it was a fun and complex management game. Now after a way to long absence it is returning in style and with multiplayer. I wonder how multiplayer will work in practice and I hope that the graphics will rock without making my computer slowdown to a crawl. That is the hope anyway and here is the trailer of the new game. I will be following it as we go.
I am glad it is being helmed by Maxis, that is where it was created and where I think it should always stay. Now can we get Will Wright involved?
Enjoy the launch trailer in all its CGI glory:
The anticipation is starting to build as Mass Effect 3 begins to loom closer. So as that happens more and more information is starting to make its way from the safety of Bioware and out on the net. Here is another video that shows some of the other groups that you will have.
I can’t help but feel the multiplayer influence that this takes from given the new galaxy at war element making its way into the game.
Now that is enough talking and take a look at this piece of gaming goodness.
So Chris and Leon tag team on some viral zombie action in Tall Oaks where +70k could be infected. I remember the original Resident Evil AKA Bio Hazard, the herbs and the tank controls. Glad it looks like the tank controls are gone and I can run and shoot at the same time. I remember the mansion in the original game but when they went to Raccoon City that was when the game truly came into its own. With the series magnum opus being Resident Evil 4 with Leon.
That game just clicked in every way. The atmosphere, art direction, and just how it all came together made it hard to match with RE5. Not that RE 5 was bad but it looks like RE6 is gonna be a middle ground between 4 and 5 with the best of both I hope. We will find out November 20, 2012 so get your shotguns ready cause the zombies are back!
Here is the trailer for your enjoyment.

When I started Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim I wondered how it would compare to other RPGs I have played. I haven’t played any of the other games in the Elder Scroll series but I have played others in the genre like Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2. Currently my most anticipated game is Mass Effect 3 cause I have played both the other games.
Also the ability to choose a path or I guess you can call it a career. Whether you wanted to play with the magic as a mage, or drip your sword in blood as a warrior, or finally work the black market as a thief. The sense of choice is grand. I was a warrior and I settled in Whiterun. I didn’t do the civil war story until I was at level 20 and I took the Imperial side. The stormcloak side just seemed so xenophobic for my tastes.
I know the Imperials were not great either with their clamping down on a certain belief but they were the best out of bad options and I liked the capital city of Solitude better than Windhelm which seemed rundown in comparison but the house you can buy there is pretty sweet. I am itching to get back to Skyrim since being away from home for the holidays.
I was my crack for some time and I enjoy it a lot. One of the best games I played last year and I hope this will hold until Mass Effect 3 comes knocking in March. I named my warrior Lancelot for obvious reasons and here is a gameplay trailer of Skyrim. If you love a good RPG and an epic adventure then this is one you should definitely check out.
Here is a video from IGN Entertainment that goes into the gameplay of Skyrim. Great job Bethesda on another awesome game with a great sense of scale and a seemly endless amount of content to explore. YOU ROCK! I hope that there are great and substantial DLC for this world because it deserves it. (Just know that exclusivity for DLC SUCKS!)
