As Microsoft continues the march to Windows 8 (or whatever it will be called), the tech community gets its first look at the newest OS, a radical transformation of the desktop experience. The demo by Microsoft VP Julie Larson-Green below, posted by Microsoft on YouTube and written about (here), shows an interface that shares a lot in common with Windows Phone 7 panes included and is touch optimized to the same degree as a regular mouse/keyboard setup.
I for one am very excited about the new Windows, especially as they allude to apps being brought forth, to be discussed further later. There is still a lot to be revealed, but it is the most significant change Microsoft has made to user experience in a decade . Now check out this video of the future of Windows:
